$2 Million License Protection and Defense
Premium Coverage - Civil Legal Liability: Includes license protection & defense costs of $1,000,000 and $10,000 of fines and penalties coverage PLUS $100,000 of Civil & Criminal Defense and $250,000 of Civil legal liability.

- At the time of enrollment, each enrollee will be required to make a non-refundable payment in the amount of the first month’s premium (minimum earned premium). Administrative fees and minimum earned premium are non-refundable.
- Pricing includes a $40.00 program administration fee. Down payment refers to the monthly payment option. Your down payment includes one month's premium, administrative fees and a $5.00 monthly processing fee. Down payments will be processed immediately; monthly deductions, as shown above, will begin on the third of the month after the enrollment effective date.

Premium coverage that includes:
- License Protection & Defense Costs: (includes Foreign Jurisdiction Coverage and Loss of Personal Property). Coverage provides for the legal defense costs incurred as a result of a shipping casualty as well as the reimbursement of civil fines and penalties and, if resulting from a pollution incident, criminal fines and penalties imposed against you resulting from a shipping casualty, up to $10,000. Basic Coverage also includes coverage for lost or damaged personal property.
- Civil & Criminal Defense: Coverage for defense costs and associated expenses in the event that you are served with a civil or criminal complaint or process by a court of inquiry, regulatory board, or other governmental authority, resulting from a shipping casualty.
- Civil Legal Liability: Coverage for sums in which you have become legally liable to pay for bodily injury and/or property damage as a result of a shipping casualty, up to the limit purchased.
- Optional Loss of Income Coverage: Coverage for monthly compensation (up to 12 months) plus a $35 per day subsistence allowance in the event of the suspension or revocation of your license or compensation for the difference in wages should your license be reduced in grade.

- Important: This is an Occurrence based policy and under this type of policy coverage is afforded for covered claims where the reported incident occurs within the purchased certificate coverage period, regardless of when the claim is reported to the insurance company. Any incidents that occur before or after the purchased certificate coverage period are not covered.
Deductibles and Retentions
- $0 Deductible for License Protection and Defense, Foreign Jurisdiction Coverage ($5,000 Coverage Limit), Civil and Criminal Defense, Civil Legal Liability, and Loss of Income & Subsistence Allowance.
- $250 deductible each claim for loss of personal property ($5,000 coverage limit and $1,000 sublimit per item)
Payment Options
- Pay in full or choose monthly payments via credit card or electronic funds transfer (EFT). For those customers that select the monthly payment option, your credit card or EFT will be processed on the third of each month.

- Coverage is underwritten by Berkley Offshore Underwriting Managers on behalf of StarNet Insurance Company, whose member insurance companies are rated A+ (Superior), Financial Size Category XV by A.M. Best Company.

Once the claim has been initially reported, please fill out the Claims Reporting Form and return the completed form to the email address listed on the document.
